As Co-Founder of Flo-Medi Lab Services, Dr. Jaquelyn Agasan, PhD (Dr. Jackie) also serves as the Managing Director of the laboratory, where she is responsible for its overall administration and technical management. Under her leadership and expertise in the clinical arena, she directs the team to excellence. As a visionary leader, she is committed to the people we serve as well as our teams and partnerships especially amid Covid-19. To this end, we have made it a priority to assist the local community to provide accurate, quality and timely test results.

Throughout her tenure career, Dr. Agasan has successfully managed multiple diagnostic laboratories as a microbiologist as well as being well-versed in quality systems, bio-safety and emergency response planning. She has developed clinical protocols, created SOPs and has contributed to science publications. She also designed and implemented research projects and has taught on a broad spectrum of medical topics including microbiology, immunology, anatomy and physiology at several universities in the United States as well as abroad in Australia, Canada and Philippines and Japan.

Prior to founding Flo-Medi Lab Services, Dr. Agasan served as Bureau Chief of the Bureau of Diagnostic Laboratories for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Division of Animal Industry. In this role, she managed the administrative, technical and facility departments of the main and satellite laboratories, which provided rapid and accurate detection of endemic, zoonotic and foreign animal diseases.

She has also served as Chief of the Public Health Laboratory (PHL) for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) for the investigation and surveillance of food-borne outbreaks as well as the Member of the Assistant Commissioner’s (PHL) advisory committee on bioterrorism preparedness.

Earlier in her career, she served as Research Scientist for the Division of Microbiology and the Public Health Laboratories both in New York City. She was also an Adjunct Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Lecturer in addition to authoring several abstract and research papers in peer-reviewed journals on numerous topics such as bacteriology and monoclonal antibodies in immunodiagnostics.

Dr. Agasan earned her certification for CRISPR Gene-Editing Applications from Harvard University in February 2020 and is an active member of the American Society for Microbiology.

She received her PhD in Biology/Health Sciences from Deakin University in Victoria, Australia and her Master’s of Science from the University of the Philippines in Manila. She resides in Orlando, Florida.

Dr. Michael Peredelchuk, PhD joined Flo-Medi Lab Services as a Scientist to work side by side with the clinical lab management team. In this integral role, Dr. Peredelchuk is responsible for assisting in the development of clinical services and processing of clinical laboratory tests. During this critical time as the world faces unprecedented challenges with COVID-19, our team is especially dedicated to providing the local community with timely and accurate information.

Dr. Peredelchuk’s career spans more than 20 years in a clinical and laboratory setting, where he developed expert knowledge in areas of immunology, contagious diseases, genetics and molecular biology. Prior to joining our lab team, Dr. Peredelchuk served as Scientist at Sanofi Pasteur-Vaxdesign where he developed immunoassays for influenza, yellow fever, RSV and Zika.

As a research Scientist, he has also developed assays for anthrax toxin inhibitors of the anthrax toxin and other bioterrorism agents. While at the Office of Vaccine Research and Review, he created RT-PCR assays for screening of bio-products for mycoplasma contamination.

He was awarded the Cancer Research Training Award from the National Cancer Institute in his role in the prostate cancer research project on tumor suppressor gene identification and cloning. Dr. Peredelchuk’s has contributed to numerous publications including research for biotechnology and bioterror pathogens.

Dr. Peredelchuk earned his PhD in Genetics from the Institute of Genetics of Microorganisms in Moscow, Russia and his postdoctoral degree in Microbiology from Rice University in Houston, TX.

He resides in Oviedo, FL with his family.
